How we choose to be happy

There's this book I read recently, I thought it's kinda thought provoking and at times inspiring as well. Some particulars about this book:

Title : How we choose to be happy: The 9 choices of extremely happy people
Authors: Foster, Rick & Hicks, Greg
Finding it in Kinokuniya: Book shelf J11-04
Finding it in the national library: Call no B15474740J

Some ideas from this book:

The 9 choices towards true happiness...

1) Intention
> The active interest and commitment to be happy
> To consciously choose attitudes and behaviours that will possibility give you happiness

2) Accountability
> To decide on the life and create opportunities to live it
> To assume personal responsibility for any actions, thoughts and feelings
> Not to blame others
> Neither to view yourself as victim

3) Identification
> Ongoing process to really discover deep within what makes you really happy

4) Centrality
> Making happiness central to your life

5) Recasting
> To transform stressful problems/ trauma into something meaningful, important or even a source of emotional energy

6) Options
> To approach life by creating mulitple scenarios
> To be open to new possibilities
> Adopt a flexible approach to life's journey

7) Appreciation
> Choice to appreciate deeply your own life and people in it
> 'stay in the present' and turn each experience into something precious

8) Giving
> Choice to share yourself with friends and community
> Give to the world at large without expectation of a 'return'

9) Truthfulness
> To be honest with yourself and others
> Not to allow societal, workplace, or family demands to interfere

Yup, and lastly the synergy of all these decisions to make your life a better one that makes the difference. Give it a try, you may never know what you'll find! :)

May there be peace on earth and happy people all around us! :)
