LA- Universal Studios

Our 2nd day in LA, we visited Universal Studios! =)

We rushed from one area to another to catch the amazing rides- eg. Shrek 2, Back to the Future, Water World live show, T2 live show, Vanhelsing Castle, Mummy Returns ride, etc...

It was wonderful! =) A pity that the night comes too early and it closes early in winter. ;)

We managed to cover all areas except the production town where there's the buildings for filming purposes. Maybe next time. =)

NYC- Manhattan Cruise & New Year's Countdown...

On 31st Dec 05 morning, Uncle Keng Peng & Auntie Berry sent us to NYC. We were driving over and it started to snow very gently. The snow flakes fall onto the windscreen and melts away, the sight is really lovely.

Zonghe already booked a cruise ard Manhattan Island and we decided to go for it on new year's eve. The cruise is about 2.5 hrs and it took us slowly around the island. There was the Statue of Liberty of course and other beautiful bridges that link Manhattan to other areas in NYC.

After we got off the cruise ship, we were walking towards the United Nations HQ when it started to snow heavily. Zonghe n I were so excited to see snow in the city and it's a wonderful sight.

Then night came and we went to Times Square for the count down. Basically we'd a Mac Burger for dinner and went in to squeeze with the crowd. But we were too far from where all the action is. It was only 8pm. Apparently people come in to 'queue' at abt 10am to get the best 'seats' for the count down!

We decided to leave the crowd as we couldn't see anything... the place where the ball drops... But the experience was incredible. The idea of squeezing together all excited to count down to the new year is amazing! The temperature dropped to -1 or -2 degrees but the crowd was all heated. None of us felt cold at all.

Anyway, we got out of the squeeze and went for some shopping around the shops in the area... I bought a pair of lovely gloves. Cos unfortunately, I dropped 1 of my glove today so Zonghe got me a new one. =) We went back to the hotel to take a rest first.

Then came the count down....

It was 11.30pm... We came out from the hotel (which we squeezed with 6 more pple!)... The hotel was v near where the ball would drop at midnight... So, we hang around our hotel, there were barricades separating us and the 'ball'... There was a big crowd that gathers near us too.

It was almost midnight, the crowd went wild! We broke free of the barricades and rushed in to see the ball drop! We got the best view!!! It was really fun!

Philadelphia > New Jersey

Uncle Keng Peng & Auntie Berry brought us to Atlantic City. It's my first time to a casino town. I've not been to Vegas yet and I'm so excited to see the colourful buildings and what's happening inside the casino. Basically there's no clocks inside and you never know whether it's day or night from inside. We didn't gamble, but took a nice walk along the beautiful beach. The weather was wonderful. Windy yet not too cold. Sunny yet not humid.
